IT Programme Delivery Manager – Shared Services £500 – £550/day or permanent

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a rapidly expanding Information Technology consultancy firm for a Programme Delivery Manager for Shared Services to join their busy team. The role is predominantly remote / home working with a need to travel occasionally to their client’s site in Peterborough. As Programme Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the management of a team 20+ PM’s and technical resources, around 20 or so IT Infrastructure, IT Application projects and Corporate Business projects and over 100+ smaller workstreams.

Responsibilities include:

Managing the successful delivery of Corporate business and IT projects through the design, build, testing, acceptance, commissioning and handover lifecycle. Leading essential projects, managing the Corporate IT project portfolio to share interdependencies and recommending trade-offs and phasing to manage competing resourcing and budget demands. Manage project gate reviews with the Head of IT to ensure each project has a robust business case, controls and delivery plan. Define and maintain standards for successful execution including documentation and metrics related to portfolio, programme, and project management. These are just an example of the typical responsibilities of the role and others include project performance management, communications, risk management and mitigation, team / people management within the project management team, key business user support, developing detailed programme / project plans, monitoring and tracking, etc.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant overall progressive IT experience and proven experience working as a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager, the ability to define the scope, planning, resources and deliverables of a project in order to meet customers’ expectations, to analyse project risks and develop mitigation strategies, the ability to prioritise and delegate activities of project team, to mobilise and motivate a project team composed of Corporate functions, IT and 3rd Parties, etc. You have excellent relationship building and management skills with all levels, strong experience to control and report on project budget and relevant project KPIs, conflict management and resolution skills and Excellent experience of delivering a portfolio of projects to time, quality and budget, and in delivering application, infrastructure and cloud projects. The successful candidate will also be ITIL / Prince 2 / APM / Agile qualified or equivalent and/or qualified by experience and ideally have MS Power BI or equivalent experience for project reporting.
